SIG: Legislation & Regulation

The Vendorcom Legislation & Regulation SIG supports Solutions Providers who need to respond to the ever growing legislative and regulatory impact on the payments ecosystem and Merchants from all sectors who are proactive in understanding the future impact and opportunity that legislative and regulatory changes might bring.

It tackles the three main phases of how the industry deals with legislation & regulation:

  • Linking our members and delegates to consultations and calls for input by regulators & legislators, helping all stakeholders with the development of practical/workable legislative change;
  • Helping payments solutions providers and merchants respond to legislation that has been enacted, during the implementation/change process and through to ensuring that compliance can be part of business as usual activity;
  • As part of a review and iteration/life cycle process, proactively proposing changes to the existing legislative and regulatory landscape that would help the payments sector deliver benefits to both business and the wider economy as a whole.
Current key areas of focus include:
  • PSD2
  • RTS on SCA
  • GDPR
  • Interchange Fee Regulations
  • Brexit
Our SIG meetings are predominantly roundtable in format, with a mix of presentations and discussion; the key emphasis being on thought leadership, knowledge sharing and issue resolution.

If you have any particular topics that you'd like to see covered at this SIG or if you'd be interested to speak/lead a discussion, please contact Amanda at

For 2019, our Legislation & Regulation SIG will be hosted by Winckworth Sherwood LLP.
