Payments Identity & Authentication Forum

Not surprisingly, we’re starting the year with the most pressing issue of the year: Strong Customer Authentication. With less than a year to go until the EBA’s new 31st December supervisory flexibility deadline, we all have our work cut out to even get close to being ready.

The next few weeks sees a flurry of activity with a briefing today to the FCA on SCA in the hotel and travel sectors, an FCA SCA Monitoring Forum meeting on 24th Jan, a UK Finance SCA briefing for merchants on 28th Jan and a Vendorcom/UK Finance briefing for payment gateways on 31st Jan!

In an open discussion on SCA, we will mainly be using the session to gather evidence of progress and any concerns in advance of the FCA’s SCA Monitoring Forum meeting on 24th January.

Please come prepared to share your observations on current activities and any insightful case-studies.

Ahead of our SCA discussions, we will have two presentations to set the scene:

Paul Lucraft: Director, Expense Reduction Associates will give an overview of the identity and authentication landscape and the challenges and opportunities for both merchants and solutions providers as we enter 2020 and the decade ahead.

Bilal Alhmoud, Fraud Risk & Intelligence, RSA Security will share his insight on developments and innovative approaches to 3D Secure as a way of dealing with SCA two-factor authentication.

We will wrap up our session with a brief discussion on the wider ID, fraud, privacy landscape… to ensure we’re heading in the right direction for future Vendorcom Payments Forums on these topics.
