Hospitality Payments Forum

The airline, hotel, travel and tourism sectors have been busy over the past three months preparing for the challenges of SCA that are only now being recognised by regulators as having been significantly over-simplified and misunderstood over the past three years. I’ve been representing Vendorcom in the UK Finance Hotel & Travel Special Interest Group and have been joined by Vendorcom members 3C Payment, American Express, CMSPI, easyJet, Elavon, Sarova Hotels, Visa, and many others who have taken an active role in mapping the hotel and travel payments journey.

We’ll have updates from:

Robin Bwalya: Analyst, UK Finance on the restructured SCA Programme in general and the progress being made in their Hotel & Travel SIG, and Vas Selvaratnam: Payments Consultant – EMEA, American Express will discuss the briefing on hotel and travel payments that has been given today to the FCA and reflect on the pan-European perspectives that this sector needs to be aware of.

Following their presentations, we will have an in-depth discussion of the issues raised in preparation for the UK Finance Hotel & Travel Special Interest Group meeting on Thursday 23rd January.

As you can see, things are moving forward on a daily basis and we are recommending that members engage fully in the current programme to both keep abreast of what will affect you later in the year and have the chance to comment on the activities and outputs so far. This is your opportunity to keep your finger on the pulse and influence the direction of this programme.

If time permits, we’ll also have a wider discussion on the top topics facing the hospitality sector in 2020 and beyond.
